This lovely commission was installed in September at La Vega Garden Centre in a grove of mango trees and bamboo. The design comes from 17th century Germany. Mary wears a red dress and stands on a crescent moon with a snake under her foot. Bunty made the knots by rolling a rope out of clay and tying it in small pieces. The work of cutting, firing, glazing and mounting onto cement ply board, took about 2 months. Come to La Vega and visit Mary, and the surrounding lakes and hiking trails.
